NY Marathon pick up @ Javits Center

After volunteering I picked up my bib and gear for the NY Marathon at the Javits Center. Joined Alex and Tincho for a short chat after which we went home.

NYRR Volunteer @ Javits Center

I did my volunteer duty for the NYRR at the Javits Center helping in the International Runners desk just by the entrance of the pick up cycle. Started at 2 pm and finished by 7 30 pm.
It had a great time being able to help people from all over the world using my Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese. The one's I had a hard time understanding were some Scots and Irish, their English was very difficult to comprehend. With whom I had the greatest fun were the Italians, people from the Solution Desk heard I got along with them so they came over to help them solve the problems that came up with them. With the only people I had a bit of trouble was with an Argentine couple who was trying to get some extra stuff from a very nice old lady beside me whom they overwhelmed, in very straight forward BA slang, I told them: This is not Argentina, shove off...

Stationary Biking - 6 miles (10 km)

As it was raining we decided not to run and risk catching a cold so had breakfast with Alex and Carlos in the Deli. Howard was around and joined us.
When I got home I decided to do a slow stationary bike ride for an hour to relax.

Truco NY @ Yale Club

A bunch of Argentinean Hooligans meet regularly at the Yale Club to play Truco. I still don't understand how we have not been kicked out after all these years for disturbing the peace in the Bar and Restaurant area.

Went by Alex's house to check on his burnt ankle that will require sometime to heal completely. He stated that we'll see him run soon and will do what it takes to run the marathon. Carlos and I have our reservations on his matter.

6 miles (10 Km) pretty fresh morning

We ran 6 miles with Carlos in 1:04 hrs. Mornings are getting cooler. It seems Alex will be not running for sometime as his burnt ankle is in bad shape. The doctor will give a final verdict in a couple of days.
We had breakfast in the Deli with Howard and 2 couples from Germany and Denmark.
